Busy Bees
After considering it for over a year, we have decided to keep bees here at our farm. This is a fun and to be honest, a little nerve wrecking adventure that we are about to embark on.
Yes I am excited about having a honey and beeswax harvest; but more than anything.. I am just plain fascinated by bees! There's so much I didn't know and from talking to others, we will always be learning more through the years.
We don't have our bees yet, soon though! In the meantime I've been visiting a fellow beekeepers place and learning all I can.. as well as taking pictures of these awesome creatures.
I truly had no idea of all these guys (I mean gals) do! I love honey even more now. I use it as well as beeswax in several of my products.
Honey and beeswax are so very beneficial for the skin, don't just take my word for it, look it up, there's a lot of information out there.
Meanwhile here on the farm, spring is a busy busy time. Shedding out horses, hatching chicken eggs and soon this years calves will be born.
Horse lovers! You must try Co-Op Chicks All Natural Equine Divine Conditioner. It's truly the most amazing leave in mane and tail conditioner I have ever used. It even helps keep tangles from forming.
My creative mind is always going.. so I made this new Co-Op Chicks All Natural Lavender Orange Lotion.
At this point I make 3 different types of lotions:
~ A super thick and moisturizing lotion (Love the Man Hide Lotion)
~ A healing lotion that helps with problematic skin issues such as eczema (Calendula Lotion, Luscious Lemon Lotion & Dandelion Lotion) these have beeswax added.
~ A whipped, light and fast absorbing lotion (Lavender & Patchouli, Sweet Birch Lotion and Lavender Lullaby)
and now, this new Lavender Orange Lotion.
And.. coming soon.. Sandalwood Vanilla Lotion!
I have found that the overwhelming amount of people that try Co-Op Chicks products, buy Co-Op Chicks products, so I am happy to send samples.
Don't be shy! Contact me today to let me know which product you would like to sample.
Be sure to check back as we will soon have baby chicks, new calves and bees!
